About

Morgan Young is a trans non-binary man of many hats. As a writer-director-producer-puppeteer, much of their work exists in the intersections of film, theatre, and music. Excess, drag, arts and crafts, and clown were all present in the media that raised Morgan, and now they celebrate each of them in their own multi-genre production company, Talking Cat Productions.

Focused on original musical shorts, Talking Cat Productions is the overture of Morgan’s personal passions and artistic ambitions. It has explored subjects such as sex education and trans childhood using puppets, music, and irreverent humor. Talking Cat aims to break down form and bend genre to make “difficult” stories approachable – colorful, satisfyingly tactile, and, most importantly, funny!

Outside of Talking Cat, Morgan’s past credits include: Production Coordinator at Brown Bag Films and Disney Jr.’s RoboGobo and Associate Producer at Nickelodeon’s Blaze and the Monster Machines. Most recently, Morgan wrote, directed, and produced their first original animated short film, Stoned for Christmas: a multi-style, multimedia whirlwind about a cannabis courier’s deliveries at Christmastime. They are always seeking writing opportunities of any kind.
